Production Description:
Cut metal house numbers and letters are produced by cutting a number or letter from flat sheets of aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, or steel. The cutting device is a high-pressure jet of water that contains a fine grit. This water-jet cutter produces very precise angles and curves for our numbers & letters. These cut pieces are then finished in the numerous styles below:
Aluminum
Natural Satin
Polished
Our water-jet-cut aluminum numbers &
letters are produced from aluminum alloy 5052 flat sheets. This alloy offers
good cutting, welding and corrosion resistance. It allows excellent
anodizing and has a superior hardness rating of H32.
The water-jet is a tiny, high-pressure stream of
water that contains a fine grit. This high-pressure stream cuts
precise corners and turns leaving a .02" inside radius. This
method produces the best detail for small numbers & letters.

Our water-jet-cut "Brass" numbers &
letters are produced from flat sheets of either Brass alloy C46400
Naval Brass (60% copper, 39.25% zinc, & .75% tin, 0% Lead);
or from Muntz alloy C280 (nearly identical in appearance of brass -
60% copper & 40% zinc). These alloys are used interchangeably for
"Brass" numbers or letters. Note: See the discussion of the
water-jet in the Aluminum section above.

Bronze
Natural Satin
Polished
Our water-jet-cut Bronze numbers &
letters are produced from flat sheets of Bronze alloy C220000 (90%
copper, 10% zinc, & 0% Lead). Note: See the discussion of the water-jet in the
Aluminum section above.
Our water-jet-cut Copper numbers &
letters are produced from flat sheets of Copper alloy C11000. This
alloy provides good cutting, welding and corrosion resistance.
Note: See the discussion of the water-jet in the Aluminum
section above.

Steel: Hot-Rolled
Raw Steel
Flat Black:
Our water-jet-cut Steel numbers &
letters are produced from flat sheets of Cor-TenTM
hot-rolled steel. This
material produces an extremely durable product that is ideal of the
rustic appearance produced either by allowing the numbers to
naturally rust or by using our special patinas. Note: See the discussion of the water-jet in the
Aluminum section above.

Our water-jet-cut Stainless Steel numbers &
letters are available in two different alloys: C304 for good
cutting, welding & corrosion resistance; and C316 for superior
corrosion and tarnishing resistance. Note: See, the
discussion of the water-jet in the Aluminum section above.
